My Birthday Party

My birthday was on the 10th but I decided to have my party yesterday. Instead of going out, I invited my friends to my place and made a lasagna supper.

And Darcy made my cake. The picture on it is from the car in a show I like, Supernatural.

And here we all are (save for my friend Irene, who took the picture)

Dentist

I went to the dentist today and paid big bucks to get my fillings. We were watching the hockey game between Canada and Russia, which was cool until I realized that maybe I didn’t want my dentist drilling in my mouth at the same time. What if Canada scored?

My right cheek is frozen, I can’t bite on that side for 24 hours and I have to go back next Friday, which just so happens to be the day of my birthday party. Oh well, I’m not going to change either date now.

Abortion: An Ethical Dilemma

On the bus ride home yesterday, I found myself thinking about abortion and the debate that surrounds it. My conclusion is that abortion is an ethical dilemma, a situation in which somebody must choose one of two or more unsatisfactory alternatives (Encarta Dictionary). However, this is not how it is viewed by most of the internet sites and blogs I visit. Abortion is presented as a yes or no question and I think this refusal to look at abortion as a dilemma that may have no satisfactory right or wrong answer holds back the debate from being explored further.
